Makarand Kulkarni
Makarand is our Chief of Business (CBO). He is a Senior Banker with more than 20 years of experience in Banking, Trust and Fiduciary. He started his career with United Western Bank at their Trusteeship arm namely, Western India Trustee & Executor Company (now merged with IDBI Trustee). Since 2007 he has been with Axis Bank initially with the Capital Markets Division and one of the founding members of Axis Trustee business.
He was instrumental in setting up ATSL's Facility Agency business through its offshore branches. In 2019, he formed & led the Business Coverage Team for ATSL where he successfully took the responsibility of formulating go-to market strategy, improving key metrics, and acquiring new customers. He closely worked with several multinational companies and helped them in structuring cross border fund-raising activities under FEMA regulations. He also led teams to set up industry leading trusteeship products like Real Estate Investment Trust, Infrastructure Investment Trust, Alternative Investment Fund etc.
Makarand is Bachelor of Science, MBA in Production & Marketing and a qualified Lawyer (LL.B).
